mrp hotels advises DSR Hotel Holding

Joint Venture von DSR Hotel Holding und DER Tourisik

Subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities, DER Touristik Group and DSR Hotel Holding, a subsidiary of Deutsche Seereederei, have joined forces within the newly founded company DR Hospitality GmbH & Co. KG. The two companies each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. DR Hospitality is based in Hamburg and Rostock.

Initially, DR Hospitality will be responsible for the operation and marketing of 16 hotels and resorts under the brands A-Rosa, a-ja, Henri Hotels, Louis C. Jacob and Hotel Neptun. Particular emphasis will be placed on the expansion of the A-Rosa, a-ja and Henri brands.

mrp hotels acted as an advisor to DSR Hotel Holding during the negotiations for the foundation of DR Hospitality.

Commenting on the new joint venture, Olaf Steinhage, partner at mrp hotels, said, “The Covid pandemic has taken its toll on the hotel industry and the tourism sector. The travel behavior of Germans has focused on safe destinations in Germany that are as close as possible, and on the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts. In addition, there was high interest for destinations in other European countries, such as the Alpine region and Italy, which are easily accessible by train, bus and car. The joint venture between DER Touristik Group and DSR Hotel Holding creates a new powerful player in the attractive growth market of the European vacation hotel industry. For us at mrp hotels, it was both a challenge and a thrill to be able to bring together the potential of these two partners. With DER Touristik Group, DSR Hotel Holding has found the ideal partner to implement its ambitious expansion and development of sustainable tourism concepts.”
