The Revenue Generation Index (RGI) is a key figure used to calculate a hotel’s revenue-related market share and serves as a benchmark value. It compares the RevPAR achieved by a defined set of competitors (CompSet) with the RevPAR achieved by the hotel itself.
Calculation of the RGI:
RGI = (RevPAR of your own hotel / RevPAR of the CompSet) * 100
RGI > 100: The hotel is performing appropriately compared to the comparison group.
RGI < 100: The hotel has a lower RevPAR performance within the market under consideration than the comparison group.
